Land at Almaty International Airport (ALA) and drive away in your own car — delivered to the terminal, with your flight tracked so a delay does not cost you the booking.
Almaty airport sits about 15 kilometres north-east of the city centre, in the Turksib district. It is Kazakhstan’s busiest airport and the arrival point for most visitors heading into the Almaty region. Getting from the terminal into the city is easy enough; getting from the terminal to Charyn Canyon, the Kolsai Lakes or a morning meeting in Bostandyk is a different matter. That is where a car waiting for you makes the difference.
How airport pick-up works
- Book online and enter your flight number. The flight number is what lets us track your actual landing time rather than your scheduled one.
- Tell us your terminal. Almaty airport handles international and domestic traffic; we confirm the exact meeting point with you before arrival.
- Meet the car on arrival. Our representative is there with the vehicle and the documents after you clear baggage.
- Inspect and sign. We walk around the car together, record its condition, check fuel and mileage, and hand over the keys.
Returning the car is the mirror image: drive to the agreed point at the airport, we inspect it together, and the deposit is released. Allow around 20 minutes before you need to be at check-in.
Flight delayed or cancelled?
Give us the flight number when you book and a late landing is handled automatically — we track the flight and adjust the handover. If a flight is cancelled outright, message us as early as you can and we will move the booking rather than charge a no-show.
Why take the car at the airport instead of in town
- No transfer, no double cost. A taxi to the centre and back out again to collect a car is an hour of your day and two fares.
- Night and early-morning arrivals are covered. Many flights into ALA land late at night or before dawn, when city rental offices are shut.
- Luggage stops being a problem. Ski bags, hiking gear and family suitcases go straight into the boot.
- You can start the route immediately. Heading east towards Charyn or the Kolsai Lakes? From ALA the road leaves the city without crossing it.

Driving from ALA into Almaty
The airport road joins the city via Mailin and Rayimbek avenues; the centre is roughly 20–40 minutes away depending on the hour. Two things to plan around:
- Morning peak. Arriving between 08:00 and 10:00 means slow traffic on the way in. Add half an hour.
- Evening peak. Leaving the city for a 19:00–21:00 departure is the slowest direction of the day — start early.
Filling stations sit along the airport road, so you can top up on the way back without a detour. We hand the car over with a recorded fuel level and ask for it back at the same level.
What to bring to the terminal handover
- Your valid driving licence (plus an International Driving Permit if your licence was not issued in a Vienna Convention country)
- Passport or national ID
- A bank card in the main driver’s name for the refundable deposit
- Your booking confirmation — on your phone is fine

Is airport delivery charged separately?
The delivery fee for Almaty airport, if any applies to your dates and category, is shown in the booking total before you confirm. Nothing is added afterwards.
Can I pick up at the airport and return in the city?
Yes — tell us the return point when booking and we will confirm it. The reverse works too.
Do you deliver at night?
Yes, including late-night and early-morning arrivals. Please book ahead so the handover is scheduled rather than improvised.
Can a second driver be added?
Yes. Bring their licence to the handover so they can be recorded on the rental agreement — only registered drivers are covered.
